Hey there!
This is Baihui Chen. I am a PhD. student at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). I'm in the X-Group, supervised by Prof. Xueliang Li. I received my Master's degree from the Communication University of China in 2022 and was a Smart Media Lab member.
I specialize in Robotics, Human–robot Interaction (HRI), and Human–computer Interaction (HCI) with a research focus on structural mechanisms, shape memory alloys, fabrication, and soft robotics. My work explores how these technologies can enhance our daily life, particularly through physical forms and mechanisms that support affective interaction. I am deeply curious about the underlying principles behind everyday phenomenon and engineering systems, as well as the new opportunities enabled by emerging technologies.
Current research interests:
- Enhancing remote interaction with human-robot interaction
- Shape-changing structures for affective haptics or robots
